- What is 20% Time? 20 time is a chance to show how you can help change the work or even your community. Its a chance to help talk about the world and how to make it better.
- What is the essential question that you have asked? How is the World/United states changing and how it is affecting people in Saratoga.
- What have you chosen to be your 20% Time Project? Why did you choose this? How does your project choice answer the essential question? We wanted to do a project called a month late where we make a video and talk about major events in the work for US and how they relate to people in saratoga, specifically high school students.
- What are your goals? Make people think, laugh and to keep them entertained. Our primary goal is to get people interested in current events basically and to start change in the world.
- How will you measure your progress/achievement? We will measure it by amount of people that have said good job to us, or by how many views the video has.
- What is your plan moving forward? Start coming up with ideas and then set up a desk and green screen and create the entertainment/news that will help people in saratoga.

I really like this idea because I think that a lot of people living in the "Saratoga bubble" don't really understand a lot of the issues outside the community and why they're so important. By using humor and making the videos somewhat relevant to the Saratoga community, you will hopefully capture more people's attention about these issues. For the videos, you might want to use the studio in the MAP lab so that the show looks more official than just sitting behind a desk, and you have more access to recording equipment.
ReplyDeleteI think that what you guys are doing perfectly matches your characters. You both are funny guys with lots of energy and potential. Not only that but as a pair, you compliment each other very well. I also think that this could be a very successful project especially because you both have MAP experience. Also, you guys have set pretty reasonable goals for yourselves. To measure success though, I wouldn't base it off of views. Views on youtube are a pretty hard determinant especially if you guys want to track appeal. I say this because viewing only requires the viewer to click on the link, not actually watch the whole video (click bate for example). So instead I would recommend tracking average view time.

ReplyDeleteI really think that I will enjoy this project because I know you guys will put a good amount of humor into this project but still taking it seriously. The map skills that you guys have will really help to accomplish this project. The only problem I see you guys facing is that producing a news show might be really hard and take some time. So having news that is up to date could be a serious challenge. But other than this, good luck I am excited to watch it.

ReplyDeleteThis should be interesting/funny. You'll definitely want to create a timeline for when you'll do script writing, filming, editing, etc.
